Easter Minute to Win It Essentials
I’ve whipped up some key info so planning your own Minute to Win It Easter bash will be a piece of jelly bean pie. π
The Basic Ingredients
You likely have most or all of this stuff already around the house, making it super easy to get your game on.
- Plastic Easter eggs
- Marshmallow Peps
- Straws (lots!)
- Cotton Balls (lots)
- Small bowls or containers
- Jelly beans or other fun candy
- Timer or stopwatch
1. Easter Egg Blow Off
Objective: Get ready to do some serious huffing and puffing. See who can blow their plastic Easter egg across the finish line first using only their breath – no hands allowed.
Materials Needed: plastic Easter eggs
How to Play:
- Set the eggs on a table and designate a finish line. Let little kids get closer if needed.
- Take a deep breath and blow those eggs as far (and as accurately) as you can. This game works great both indoors and outdoors.
Blow in short, quick bursts rather than one looooooong blow. Gives more control!
2. Easter Basket Head
Objective: Toss plastic eggs into a plastic Easter basket worn on someone’s head. See who can catch the most to win.
Materials Needed: Plastic Easter baskets and colorful plastic eggs
How to Play: Take turns wearing a basket on your head while others toss in eggs.
Gently toss the eggs in an arc to give the basket-header time to align the basket opening.
3. Easter Egg Drop Zone
Objective:
Use a 20-foot string to make a rolling track for Easter eggs. Gently guide each egg down and try to drop them into baskets below. See how many you can get into the baskets.
Hereβs a video that shows the gist of the game (please, watch it!). Itβs pretty much the same – except this version uses Easter Eggs.
Materials Needed: 20-foot piece of string, a sturdy stand or pole, 3 baskets, 3+ Easter eggs (I recommend using 6 inch plastic eggs)
Set Up:
- Grab the pole or stand and tie the string into a loop around it. Now you have a large oval.
- Tie the string into a loop, so now you have a huge oval. Hold out your hand and hold the other end of rope in your hand. Now you’ve made the track.
- Place the 3 baskets on the ground under the track (about 2 feet apart).
- Have your eggs where you can easily grab them or have someone place them on the track for you.
Gameplay:
- Place an egg on the track.
- Carefully lift and guide the loop to roll the egg, then relax the string to try and drop the egg into a basket.
- Repeat with 2 more eggs, aiming for different baskets. Little kids can hold with both hands as a helper places each egg.
- The person with the most eggs in the baskets wins

4. Three Legged Bunny Hop
Objective: Team up into pairs, stand side by side, and tie your inner legs together. Grab a spoon with an egg and race across the room by hopping together without dropping your egg.
Materials: Spoons and plastic eggs for each team
Set Up: Have teams of two stand together then tie their inner legs. Give each team a spoon with an egg balanced on it.
Gameplay: See which pair can hop the fastest across the room and back without that precious egg falling. It’s a bouncing good time!
Make sure you have at least 4 players (or two teams), but the more partners that join in, the more laughs you’ll get.
5. Easter Egg Roll
Objective: Use an empty pizza box to fan 2 Easter eggs across the floor into a target zone.
Eggs can only be moved with breeze caused by fanning the pizza boxes near them – nothing else, no hands. The eggs must land touching each other to win.
Materials Needed: an Empty pizza box and 2 plastic Easter eggs per player, timer
Set Up: Mark out an 18β x 18β target zone on the ground with chalk, blue painters tape, whatever works the best for your location.
Gameplay: Stand at the starting line with your pizza box. Fan it quickly to roll the 2 eggs across the room, trying to stop them together in the target area. For little kids, use just 1 egg.
Here’s 3 ways to make the Easter Egg Pizza Box Race harder:
- Increase the distance to the target zone. Scoot the starting line back a few feet to make players really work to fan those eggs all the way to the goal.
- Decrease target zone size. Reduce the dimensions of the target area to something like 12″ x 12″ instead of 18″ x 18″. Landing both eggs perfectly inside will require precision.
- Add obstacles. Place some small objects like plastic blocks or mini cones around the play area that players will need to fan the eggs around. Winding around obstacles makes aiming those shots much tougher.
6. Egg Relay
Objective: Race against the clock in teams by balancing an egg on a spoon and running it to your teammate without dropping. If it falls, you’ve gotta hustle back to start. Quick feet and steady hands win.
Materials Needed: Plastic eggs, spoons for each player, timer
Set Up: Form relay teams of 2 or more players. Give each player a spoon with an egg. Line up each team one in front of the other.
Gameplay:
- The first player of each team speed-walks or runs with their egg on the spoon to their teammate waiting across the room.
- They pass the egg to the next teammate’s spoon without dropping. Time each team! If the egg falls, that player restarts from the beginning.
- Modify as needed for little kids by walking instead of running, letting them use larger spoons or ladels, or make it harder for teens/adults by going backwards.
Here’s Some Silly Rules and Challenges You Can Use With an Egg Relay Race
- Have players balance the egg on a spoon in their mouth as they run. They have to transfer the egg to their teammate’s spoon without using their hands.
- Make players hop on one foot instead of running to pass the egg.
- Place hurdles and other obstacles for players to jump over without dropping their eggs.
- Blindfold the egg carriers and guide them with voice cues. Get ready for straight-up chaos
- Set up relay teams with parents holding kids. It’s perfect for some family bonding!
7. Egg Stack
Objective: See who can build the tallest egg tower in 1 minute using plastic Easter egg halves.
Materials Needed: plastic Easter eggs, timer
Set Up: Separate plastic eggs into halves. Give each player a bunch of halves. Set a timer for 1 minute.
Gameplay: Start stacking up those egg halves into a tall tower. Keep going ’til you hear the timer ring. The player with the highest stack at the end wins.
For a fun twist, give specific stack goals like using certain colors in patterns. Or try toilet paper tube halves – trickier but still stackable!
8. Easter High Strung (a.k.a Easter Egg Bottle Swap)
Objective:
Use a looped string to pick up an Easter egg from one bottle and place it onto another bottle across the room.
Hereβs a video to give you more of a visual of how you play Easter High Strung.
Materials Needed: 36-inch piece of string, 2 bottles, Sticky Tack putty, boiled Easter eggs, timer
Set Up: Tie the string into a loop. Secure 2 bottles 15 feet apart to tables with putty. Place an egg on 1 bottle.
Game Play:
Use just the string to lift the loop over the egg, then carry and lower the egg onto the other bottle across the room! For little kids, use shorter string and place bottles closer together.
Make Easter High Strung Easier:
- Use thicker, rubber band loops that cradle the egg more securely.
- Place the bottles closer together so less carrying is required.
- Use a small spatula to help pick up and guide the egg if needed.
Make Easter High Strung Harder:
- Increase the bottle distance – try 20 or 25 feet!
- Set a timer to add urgency.
- Layer obstacles between the bottles to maneuver around.
9. Easter Junk in the Trunk
Objective: Strap empty tissue boxes around your waist filled with plastic eggs or ping pong balls. Then wiggle and shake your booty to get that “junk” outta your “trunk”.
Materials:
Empty tissue boxes, duct tape or a belt, plastic Easter eggs or ping pong balls, timer
Set Up: Tape or strap a tissue box securely around each player’s waist, opening outward. Load up each trunk with bouncy ping pong ball eggs.
Gameplay:
When itβs time, bust a bunny move to shake those eggs free! Race to empty your trunk box o’ balls the fastest just by shakin’ what your momma gave ya!
10. Easter Matchmaker
Objective:
Mix up a bunch of plastic Easter egg halves by color and race to match ’em into full eggs again before time runs out. Fastest match maker wins.
Materials Needed:
plastic Easter egg halves in various colors, timer
Set Up: Grab handfuls of different colored half eggs. Scatter them across a table or floor all mixed together.
Gameplay: Race to find halves of the same colors and snap them back into full eggs. Work fast – the clock is ticking For little kids, use fewer eggs in distinct colors.
If you have players that are color blind instead of matching by colors, consider drawing patterns on the plastic eggs to match, to keep it fair for everyone.

Gameplay: Just like paper tic tac toe, players take turns tossing an egg, trying to get 3-in-a-row to win. Guide those eggs carefully into place to block or succeed.
Here’s 3 Easter Tic Tac Toe variations that incorporate running or teams:
- Scramble Setup: After each egg toss, players must run to reposition the glasses into a new layout before the next turn. Keeps it fresh!

Here’s 3 tips to make Easter Sticker Picker Upper easier to play:
- Decrease number of stickers to pick up to just 1 or 2
- Place stickers closer together in a smaller area.
